Little Monsters, this should excite you. After Gaga had to rush the debut of her new single “Applause”this past Monday (August 12th), consequently the same day Katy Perry released her brand new song “Roar,” the singer upped the stakes. Talk about major pop music competition as well as fanbase wars;she had accompanied the song to a lyric video.

The text pops up on the screen in calligraphy overhead what seems like a strident drag pageant taking position in the backdrop of the video. Entertainers attired in racy pajamas and graceful ensembles flaunt from side to side ahead of an excited audience cheering enthusiastically  – with none other than applause.

The single is the first from Gaga’s fourthcoming album ARTPOP, which is out November 11th. Additionally with dropping ”Applause” a week earlier than planned, she also put out a video this past week in which she used reverse psychology.

The video told fans not to support her new project but in the end it tells everyone to buy “Applause.” An interesting twist right? Gaga really knows how to get people talking.

You can check out the lyric video to ”Applause” below:[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ld9cZ7d_2A&w=560&h=315]

What do you think? Is Gaga still relevant or is she done sinceKaty Perry’s return with her #1 single “Roar?”
