The epic comic book from IDW Publishing is being turned into a film and it’s just been revealed that David Green will direct.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros had Barry Sonnenfeld in position for the job until disagreements arose with the Men in Black director about budgeting.

With Dwayne Johnson said to be fronting the project, Lore is sure to be action-packed. In the comic, a group of shepherds are tasked with defending the world against a legion of mythological beasts.

We’re excited about Warner Bros’ decision to have an unknown direct the film but this quibbling over budgets has us slightly worried. Will Warner Bros do the comic justice?

David Green will be making his feature length directing debut next year with Echo, which might give us some idea as what to expect tonally from Lore.

Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott have written the screenplay based on the comics by Ashley Wood, T.P. Louise and Robbie Robbins.

There’s no movie release date yet as production has barely begun but we shall keep you posted!

Here’s Dwayne Johnson in his latest trailer for Pain & Gain… What do you think he’ll bring to Lore?
