I’m not quite sure which is more impressive; how beautifully produced this juggernaut is, or how Tom Hardy manages to star in another motion picture without uttering more than a hundred words, replete with his signature under-the-breath-grunting.

Both are truly amazing. And the grunting is kinda hot.

It’s hard to do bleak and beautiful simultaneously, but director George Miller manages to make the movie appear like a glorious graphic novel with ever-changing dramatic color templates. Some of the imagery is unsettlingly macabre but without too much blood. Plenty of violence, not that much blood.

The film gears up to 120mph within the first five minutes and remains at that pace RELENTLESSLY for two hours. In fact, it’s exhausting. But this is a gem of an action picture and, frankly, much classier than the original, starring super-Catholic and renowned Anti-Semite, Mel Gibson. Time and nostalgia have created even more affection for a movie that was always appreciated for what it was.

This one co-stars Charlize Theron as a shaved-head, kick-ass, sexy savior of pregnant women. I can’t think of a lesbian on earth that shouldn’t witness this.
As I say occasionally: if you’re inclined to see this movie then you will be inclined to love it as well.
