Teen Wolf star Dylan O'Brien was sent to the hospital in British Columbia following an accident on the set of his newest film, Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

With all that running, something bad was bound to happen! Teen Wolf star Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday (Thursday, March 17, 2016) while filming his latest movie project, Maze Runner: The Death Cure.

“Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada,” reps reported, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”

According to Variety, O’Brien was hit by a car during filming and had to be rushed to a hospital in British Columbia. One of the car scenes took a sour turn, resulting in the 24-year-old actor suffering several broken bones. Although this is heavily rumored there has yet to be official confirmation regarding the actual cause of his accident. Other reports claim that O’Brien may have fallen off of the back end of a set that was supposed to resemble a train.

Jennifer Allen, Dylan O’Brien’s publicist, has assured everyone that the doctors say he will make a full recovery.

WorkSafe BC, a company that investigates accidents in British Columbia, is in communication with the studio and film producers to determine whether the Maze Runner team followed all appropriate protocol following O’Brien’s accident.

“Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers,” a spokesperson said.

In 2014, The Maze Runner made about $102 million in the United States alone. In 2015, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials made about $82 million domestically.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure will speed into theaters on February 17, 2017.
