For people considering purchasing a 4K Ultra HD television but are holding off because of scarcity of content, there might be something for you to watch in the not-too-distant future. That is, if you’re a fan of the English group Muse.
Muse are releasing a concert film entitled Muse: Live at Rome Olympic Stadium and have just released a trailer for it. Fans will be able to see this technologically ground-breaking film in 4K format at advance screenings in select cinemas worldwide on November 5, 2013. Those select theaters are in Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Glasgow, Hamburg, London, Manchester, Milan, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Vienna in Europe; Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Rio in Latin America; Tokyo in Asia; Sydney in Australia, and Los Angeles and New York in North America. The wider cinematic release in a more traditional format will be the very next day, November 6, and you’ll probably need to check your local listings closer to the day.
As to what will be seen on screen, Muse say of the film “It captures an extraordinary amount of detail and not just everything we’re doing – the fans, even those at the back, the set, the actors and the incredible atmosphere on a very special night in Rome.” That concert took place in July of this year during the band’s world tour in support of the 2012 release The 2nd Law, which supplied the ‘anthem’ of the London 2012 Olympic Summer Games Survival, in addition to the hits Madness and Panic Station. I was at the Vancouver stop of the tour earlier in the year and it was a big and impressive concert. I can only imagine what the concert film would be like, but according to Digital Spy, the band promise their fans “whether they managed to come to the live shows or not, an entirely new Muse concert experience.” Sounds pretty cool, don’t you think?
