Renowned for regularly adding new titles to its ever expanding collection of movies and TV shows, Netflix is, as of next month, bringing with it a new dose of nostalgia via Reading Rainbow.

Last year, a Kickstarter was set up in the hopes of bringing the show’s themes and ideas to a current audience via the internet and it proved to be hugely successful, raising more than $5 million.

The show, which actively encouraged children to read, originally ran between 1983 (wow, I wasn’t even born then!) and 2006, although re-runs have been known to be screened from time to time, with most stations ending them in 2009.

Hosted by LeVar Burton (now seen in the occasional episode of  The Big Bang Theory), every episode of the show focused on a theme from a book or other form of children’s literature, exploring them via various stories.

Are you excited to see Reading Rainbow return? Will you be devouring the episodes like you used to? Comment below and let us know!
