Remy Ma And Nicki Minaj Beef Like Drake And Meek

Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj are both vying for the crown, but only one can own it. Who will bring the heat, and who will look meek?

Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj are both vying for the crown, but only one can own it. Who will bring the heat, and who will look meek?

Drake and Meek Mill served beef the size of a T-bone steak. When the “Dreams and Nightmares” rapper triggered his “Twitter fingers,” Drake responded with his hit dis track, “Back to Back.”

Drake definitely pointed out his Midas touch because his spontaneous song was nominated for a Grammy Award. As the Canadian musician basked in his success, his counterpart was left to walk through the shame of Instagram memes and Twitter tweets.

Even though it’s 2017, fans still remember what was dubbed an entertaining moment in the rap game. However, nobody was prepared for the next battle.

Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj, two respective queens, entered the boxing ring. The tension between the women was brewing way before this year, though. In 2007, Nicki Minaj released a record rumored as a blow to Remy Ma. According to Complex, the lyrics were spit with blunt force.

“Tell that bitch with the crown to run it like Chris Brown/Like China town, bitches better bow down/Oh, you ain’t know?/Bet y’all bitches know now,” her “Dirty Money” freestyle asserts.

While her words were indirect warning shots, they weren’t misfires. The young emcee was coming for the throne, and she was coming for the crown. Remy Ma’s response was surprising support. “When I seen her at her party, I was like, ‘Yeah, what was that line about?’ To this day, I think it was a stab at me. That’s what you do in rap, and I’m cool with that,” she says in a 2010 interview.

Even when Nicki Minaj won a 2016 BET Hip Hop Award, Remy Ma expressed her congratulatory sentiment by tweet.

Their pleasantries were cut short a few months later, unfortunately. During the month of November, Remy Ma and Fat Joe’s collaboration “Money Showers” had a latent message.

It listened like a bullet to Nicki Minaj’s reputation. Remy Ma raps, “Bitch claiming she the queen, what? Not hardly/Who gave you your crown, bitch? Steve Harvey?”

Like her ex, the Trinidad and Tobago native took a minute to retaliate. In February 2017, her features on “Swalla” and “Make Love” were aimed at her competitor.

“I gave these bitches two years, now your time’s up/Bless her heart, she throwing shots, but every line sucks,” Nicki Minaj raps. Remy Ma took her successor’s bars as a golden opportunity. When she dropped “ShETHER,” everybody had all ears on Remy Ma, and all eyes on Nicki Minaj.

Their contention now begs the question: will Nicki Minaj respond with fire, or will she “Meek up” her verses?

The crown’s at stake, so she needs to grab a plate.
