The acclaimed rock group Skillet released their latest studio offering, “Dominion,” on January 14, 2022.

This vivacious record produced by Kevin Churko is comprised of tunes that were penned by band members John Cooper, Korey Cooper, Kevin Churko, and Kane Churko. “Dominion” was created entirely in a remote fashion between the group’s touring schedule dates, home studio in Wisconsin, and the Churkos’ studio in Las Vegas.

The album opens with their latest single, the defiant “Surviving the Game,” which instantly lures listeners in. It is followed by the spitfire “Standing in the Storm” and the upbeat and unapologetic title cut “Dominion.”

This journalist’s personal favorite tracks after review of “Dominion” include the melodic “Valley of Death,” where John Cooper showcases his rich, harking voice, as well as the stunning “Forever or the End,” which is sheer bliss. Equally noteworthy is “Refuge,” which is an ode to redemption.

The new album closes with the soaring “Ignite” and “White Horse,” where they leave their fans yearning for more.

Skillet is made up of John Cooper on lead vocals and bass, Korey Cooper on rhythm guitar, keyboards, and background vocals, along with drummer, Jen Ledger and Seth Morrison on the lead guitar.

The Verdict

“Dominion” is available on digital service providers by clicking here. It is one of Skillet’s most compelling and eclectic musical efforts to date, and it is worth more than just a passing glance. Every track on “Dominion” has its own identity, and the album as a whole has an empowering and optimistic message for everyone. “Dominion” garners an A rating.
