The National Enquirer claims the reasons Richard Simmons has been in hiding is because he has transitioned into a woman.
According to their website, the Enquirer has photographic evidence “of Simmons draped in furs and lingerie, living as a woman behind the walls of his Hollywood Hills mansion!”
“[This is] not just Richard Simmons in drag. This is Richard dressed as a softly spoken woman named Fiona!” a source claims.
According to The WOW Report, Simmons had said he only needed to go to the hospital for “dehydration” over the weekend. Apparently, Simmons had been hiding his true identity from the public eye for three (3) years.
Simmons has reportedly undergone secret surgeries, including breast implants and hormone therapy.
However, according to RADAR, Simmons refuses to admit to anything, so the whole affair is only speculation.
“It’s not true,” Simmons’ rep Tom Estey said in a statement for The National ENQUIRER‘s report. “He is not transitioning into a woman. He has decided to live quietly the last few years. He had knee surgery a few years ago and has a bum knee. He is still on Twitter and Facebook and works behind the scenes continuing to inspire and motivate people to lose weight. When he decides to come back, he will come back.”
So what about that source who claimed it was not just “Richard Simmons in drag”?
“He had a boob job, and his breasts are like he had been taking hormones to make them grow,” the same insider said. “He had huge mood swings, too, which we attributed to hormone therapy.”
Despite this “source,” Simmons’ rep has refused to pander to the Enquirer’s hunt for a story.
“He’s a human being,” he said. “He was in the public eye for over three decades, but he deserves his privacy. He should be able to have a private life. He just needed a break. He is still taking care of the people who need his help.”
