Duck Dynasty star, Phil Robertson, was recently suspended from his hit show after making anti-gay remarks that have many crying foul.
Though not everyone is on board with the swift action that was brought against the 67-year-old Louisiana native, and one person who has the star’s back is, unsurprisingly, Sarah Palin.
“Free speech is an endangered species,” Palin, 49, wrote on her Facebook page. “Those ‘intolerants’ hatin’ and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us.”
Phil commented to GQ magazine, “It seems like, to me, a vagina — as a man — would be more desirable than a man’s anus,” he told the magazine. “That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
As an “employee” of A&E, the network acted as they saw fit in the representation of their hit brand and America’s favorite family…for now anyway. The Robertsons are a tight-knit group, so this controversy, and the suspension of their fearless leader, begs the question as to what will happen next.
It is said that a “family that prays together, stays together,” so will the rest of the Robertsons stand by Phil and risk losing their show altogether or will the family find a way to move forward despite the controversy?
