I guess the Bayside gang really did save The Max. Yes, Zach Morris and co.’s favourite hangout spot will open for real on June 1st at Wicker Park, Chicago. The exact address (1941 W. North Avenue) was revealed today by actor Ed Alonzo on a video posted on Facebook.

The man behind this pop-up restaurant, Derek Berry, drafted a news release and said that the pop-up “would allow fans to feel as if they’ve been transported back to Bayside and are fully immersed in the universe of the show.” He added. “The final look of the space is going to be a dream come true and deliver the grand slam nostalgic experience everyone has been waiting for.”

The pop-up restaurant, which will be themed as an exact replica of Saved by the Bell’s The Max will be, appropriately, named Saved by the Max. The menu items that have been disclosed are AC Sliders, Preppy BLT, Macaroni & Screech, Belding Fries, Miss Bliss Candied Bacon and the Lisa Turtle Milkshake. Berry also indicated that there will be plenty of events for fans, such as costume contests, karaoke, trivia, dance parties, Q&A’s with cast members and rare memorabilia. Also, the Zack Attack! House Cover Band will perform “covers from the original Zack Attack!, Hot Sundae, the doo-wop group The 5 Aces, Snow White And The Seven Dorks, and a few different renditions of the theme song.”

The pop-up will be open for only a month. It will serve dinner, weekend brunches and late night snacks; and it will open every night from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., except on Saturdays, when it will stay open until 3 a.m. Reservations will be available starting Friday April 22nd on the diner’s website.

This isn’t the first time one of TV’s hangouts has been turned into a pop-up restaurant, in 2014 a pop-up replica of Friend’s Central Perk was open for a month – where else – in New York City.
