Scream Season 3 Character Descriptions Released

MTV has officially begun rebooting Scream season 3, releasing character descriptions of the new Lakewood Five.

After news broke that the MTV reimagining of the horror classic Scream would undergo a complete reboot for Season 3, fans were left with little to go on. Would the storyline be similar? Would the core group of characters be the same? Answers to such questions were sparse; in fact, there was next to no information. But finally Scream Season 3 is beginning to take shape.

As first reported by TVLine, MTV is casting five new characters for the reboot, bringing the original Lakewood Six down to the Lakewood Five, all of whom we can assume will be ruthlessly taunted by the killer – unless they are the killer.

Dion: “A Michael B. Jordan-esque football player on track to score a college scholarship — that is, until a masked killer uses Dion’s darkest secrets against him, turning his life upside down and making him question his own sanity.”

Liv: “Dion’s cheerleader girlfriend, as beautiful as she is brilliant. She’s also down to lend a helping hand where needed, though her good intentions often land her in hot water.”

Kym: “The rebellious one of the group, always willing to say what everyone else is thinking. She’s organized and protective, two qualities that will serve her well when a killer starts targeting her friends.”

Beth: “A little different from her fellow seniors, sporting a goth look and a morbid collection of interests. A “walking encyclopedia of all things horror,” she’s compared to The Craft‘s Fairuza Balk.” (Anyone else getting some serious Noah 2.0 vibes here?)

Jamal: Dion’s step-brother. “Despite hanging out with a rough crowd, he’s got a big heart and an undying loyalty to Dion.”

In addition to a completely new cast and set of characters, Scream Season 3 will feature a completely new crew. Brett Matthews will lead the creative team as showrunner, while Queen Latifah, Shakim Conpere, and Yaneley Arty will serve as executive producers.
