Nearly thirty-nine million people standing in Times Square on Tuesday night were treated to a new The Amazing Spider-Man 2 teaser trailer introduced by the godfather of Marvel himself, Stan Lee.

The one minute long teaser shows Times Square in all it’s glory on New Years Eve as Spiderman fights foes that look like they’re engineered by Oscorp. The foes? The Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Electro (Jamie Foxx).

The trailer is pretty packed with amazing stunt work as well as special effects and gratuitous shots of the greater Manhattan area. Also included are the quippy one-liners from Peter Parker and the feisty Gwen Stacey trying to keep up with her main squeeze. The chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone truly sparkles, here, for being a very small part of the trailer.

My only concern with this movie is the more than one villain storyline. We all remember how well that worked for the original Spider-Man 3 with Tobey McGuire. Either way, it looks like director Marc Webb has a handle on it.
