Stephanie Koff is set to write the script for the upcoming film Marco Polo.

Marco Polo will be produced by Erwin Stoff for Warner Bros and will be shown on Starz as a nine episode series, which is created by John Fusco and is backed by The Weinstein Company and Electus.

Koff is a Sci-Fi action and fantasy writer who, most recently, adapted Wither, which is based on the young adult series The Chemical Garden.

Marco Polo is described as an epic cinematic adventure of high politics, masterful manipulation and deadly warfare. The drama will be told from Polo’s point of view when he found himself at the centre of a brutal war between two empires in 13th century China.

Recently, Netflix emerged as frontrunner to show the series, which will add the success the streaming site has had with other original series’ like House of Cards, Arrested Development and Ricky Gervais’ Derek.
