Many fans of the successful NBC series Hannibal have noticed some homoerotic undertones in the relationship between Hannibal and Will Graham. Particularly in the final scenes of the season finale, it was difficult to figure out whether Hannibal would try to kiss or kill Graham. But… is it intentional, or just our imagination as overly enthusiastic fans?

As it turns out, we weren’t imagining anything! In an interview with TV Line, showrunner Bryan Fuller said “I don’t think they wanted to get it on at all! But sure, the homoeroticism was absolutely intentional.” Jokingly, he added, “If you could’ve heard me cackling in the editing room, you would take it with the naughty wink with which it was intended for a certain portion of the audience!”

But unfortunately for some, Fuller ruled out any chances of a “Hannigram” ship becoming canon.

“Will Graham’s heterosexual,” he explained.

That’s not the only problem stopping the romance, though! In the same interview, Fuller released some intel on season 3, talking about how Hannibal is now being openly pursued by the FBI.

As for the question as to whether Hannibal will be temporarily putting a pause to his culinary habits, Fuller said, “Oh, I don’t think he worries about such things!”

There is plenty still to come for season 3, then!
