The First Day Of The iTunes Fest: How Did Gaga Do?

The first day of the iTunes Festival set the bar pretty high with the headlining performance of Lady Gaga. This was only her second performance since her hip surgery.

Her performance proved that she could not and will never be tamed.Gaga debuted seven new songs from her upcoming album ARTPOP, to be released on November, 11th.

She kicked off her performance with “Aura”, a song her little monsters already know by heart since its demo leaked a month ago.

Then proceeded to rock the stage with songs she had been teasing for the last couple of days with little snippets and videos – like “MANiCURE”, “Swine”. She explained that some of the inspirations behind the songs, like her detractors and the people who took advantage of her.

She went on to sing “Sex Dreams”, a melodic tune with a nice Kylie feel to it. Then came the namesake of the album, “ARTPOP”, a song full of anthemic beats and a Pet Shop Boys inspired vibe, clad in her now iconic Botticelli-inspired Venus attire.She also invited special friends T.I. and TooShort for “Jewels and Drugs.”

This song had the fans bouncing and strutting around.Her penultimate song was a beautiful ballad called “I Wanna Be With You.”

The song drew inspiration from the dark days prior to the cancellation of the Born This Way Ball and the feeling of loneliness without her fans.

She reminded her monsters she will always do anything for them. Gaga wrapped a great set with a performance inspired by Broadway and the circus of her latest single, “Applause”.

After that, Gaga and her crew took a bow and thanked everyone for attending the show.
