Victims around the universe, rejoice. Less than a year after their successful fourth LP, Battle Born, The Killers have teased their followers with the following tweet:
September 16th, the 10 year anniversary of our first show in London… #ShotAtTheNight
It seems like another harmless tweet from a band, but it follows several rumors that The Killers are releasing a song with the chorus “Give me a shot at the night”. In an interview with NME before their Wembley Stadium gig in June, they described the song as having “all-knee weakening synth chords and a drum break straight out of ‘In The Air Tonight’”, as revealed in an interview with NME earlier this year, prior to their gig at Wembley Stadium.
This new single could be part of something greater coming our way this fall, e.g. a Greatest Hits album, a new EP or compilation album like their 2007 Sawdust, an accompanying CD to their Wembley DVD, you name it. To make things better, Interscope Records – their recording house, retweeted the aforementioned tweet, so it’s pretty much confirmed.
One way or another, The Killers are going strong with their Battle Born World Tour, and they’re a darn great band that helps this world keep the spirit of Rock ‘n Roll alive. Brandon, David, Mark, Ronnie, we’re still here, we’re still here…
