Hot on the heels of the rumors that he would be replacing Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah has officially been selected to take the desk as the host of The Daily Show.
Noah, a South African comedian, joined the show in December last year, and made only three appearances before getting this big promotion.
There is no date as to when Noah will take over the show, but it will be most likely at the end of the year, when Stewart’s contract expires. Noah’s takeover will indicate a massive change in Late Night, with the departures of Craig Ferguson, Jon Stewart and David Letterman, and arrivals of James Corden, Stephen Colbert and now Trevor Noah.
