Are you desperate to get noticed by your favourite celebrity? Well, new developments on the website now allow Verified Users to filter out mentions from regular, non-verified accounts.
When a celebrity looks at their mentions in the Connect tab, there are now three options: All, Filtered and Verified.
When explaining the new system, Twitter product manager, Ed Gutman said in a Twitter Blog post, “Selecting “Filtered” will show mentions based on an algorithm we use to filter out spam, and choosing “Verified” means they’ll only see mentions from other verified accounts.”
This new system will make it a lot easier for those famous account holders to contact friends, colleagues, or even those to who they themselves look up to.
Currently, this update is only available on the website. However, the Twitter team are working towards getting it available for mobile users soon.
So to fans that send multiples of the same tweet to their celebrity crushes in an attempt to get noticed, you may need a change of plan now so your tweets aren’t considered spam.
