Just when we thought that Starbucks couldn’t get any more magical, they jumped on the unicorn craze by introducing the all-new Unicorn Frappuccino.
“Here for a few days only: The flavor-changing, color-changing, totally not-made-up Unicorn Frappuccino. Magical flavors start off sweet and fruity transforming to pleasantly sour,” Starbucks describes on their website. “Swirl it to reveal a color-changing spectacle of purple and pink. It’s finished with whipped cream-sprinkled pink and blue fairy powders.”
The drink consists of pink powder blended into a crème Frappuccino with mango syrup, layered with a sour blue drizzle. A simple stirring of the drink will transform it right in front of your eyes from purple and blue with a sweet and fruity flavor to a pink drink that tastes tangy and tart. Because yes, just like its namesake, it truly is magical.
The announcement comes after a wave of speculation that the coffee giant would be dropping a new mythological drink. Starbucks baristas took to Reddit and began posting pictures of the pink and blue powders, and the rumor mill began turning. After all, a Unicorn Frappuccino is just the beginning of the food-related products that have been created to satisfy people’s unicorn-crazed needs. Unicorn toast, anyone? And as expected, people immediately took to social media upon the beverages official announcement to share their opinions and excitement.

If you’re planning on getting your hands on one of these, you better be fast, because they are just as rare as unicorns. The Unicorn Frappuccino is a limited edition iced drink that will only be available in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada starting Wednesday, April 19 and running until Sunday, April 23, or until supplies run out.
Given the hype surrounding it, we have a feeling that hunting down this drink will be just as difficult as hunting down a real unicorn.
