CBS has dug an early grave for its new sitcom We Are Men. Despite its high-profile cast and time slot right after How I Met Your Mother, the show debuted with dismal ratings and didn’t pick up from there. After just two episodes, CBS decided to give it the axe.
We Are Men, which starred Jerry O’Connel, Chris Smith, Kal Penn, and Tony Shalhoub, told the story of four single men who lived in the same short-term condo building. The focus was the bromance of these four men, who unexpectedly bond over their many romantic failings.
The hope is that moving things around will also give CBS’s other floundering new sitcom, Mom, a chance to gain a foothold with viewers. No word has been given yet on the future of Hostages, which has had similarly poor ratings, so it seems CBS’s 10 o’clock drama is safe for at least another week.
