Fans of popular music-streaming websites are counting down to midnight tonight, as the entire discography of The Beatles will be available for streaming. The Brits posted a video to YouTube earlier today, taking a short, melodious tour through all their albums, ending with the announcement itself. Needless to say, the comments on the video are of an ecstatic nature, and even more so because the band doesn’t have an exclusive contract with any particular streaming service.

It’s been in The Beatles’ history to hold back a bit when it comes to embracing new technology. It took them nearly 5 years after the launch of iTunes to allow their songs be available for purchase and download on the Apple-based store. Thankfully the people behind the band’s distribution rights has come to their senses, enabling more listeners to enjoy the heart of rock and roll.
You can surely find me this evening on Slacker Radio, adding every Beatles song I know and love to my ultimate playlist. The first song I’ll be looking up? “Hey Jude”. You cannot, under any circumstance, go wrong with that track.
