Ariana Grande has been compared to Mariah Carey ever since she broke to the scene as a singer with her first single, “The Way”. It has been a topic of discussion since forever, in which there are more and more comparisons added as time goes by. The “Problem” songstress has now revealed that it’s all an honor for her.

Grande and Carey both have exquisite ranges, reaching the heights of heavens when showing off their vocals and even doing amazing whistles. It was only normal that the young Nickelodeon star would be compared to Mimi, since the similarities would be noticed. After all, it turns out she’s perfectly fine with that though. During a recent interview with US Weekly, Ariana stated:

“Mariah has been a huge influence on me since I was a little girl. I’ve even done a cover of one of her songs. I don’t think there are any negatives to being compared to one of the greatest vocalists of all time. It’s honestly a great honor.”

Despite feeling honored as she claimed, a list of forbidden questions to ask Ariana Grande that hit the web recently tells otherwise. Reportedly, journalists are not allowed to ask her anything regarding Mariah Carey during interviews. An honor or a bothering issue after all?
