The Creator Economy continues to boom, boasting over 50 million self-defined creators spanning photographers, videographers, bloggers and social media community builders. Emerging technologies has given rise to new opportunities for content monetisation and meaningful brand partnerships.

For Alfredo Cleto Batista, the route to amassing over 170k community members across his social media took a diverse approach. He grew up in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – to which he credits the resilience and bravery behind his 2015 move to a completely new and unexpected country – Germany.

PopWrapped caught up with Alfredo for a quick chat. Here’s how he is using his platform to inspire a multicultural audience.

What brought you to Germany from the Dominican Republic?

I wanted an opportunity to see what was beyond the borders of Dominican Republic, in terms of opportunities. I moved to Germany because I felt it was a calling.

The first thing to adjust to was the weather. It was COLD. Marry that with starting from scratch – no money and I didn’t know the language, so it was a very tough start.

But, I started listening to a lot of German music and make attempts at reading the newspaper to develop my understanding. The full immersion was when I spoke to the locals, because that made me learn the language faster.

Learning the language is the beginning of getting into the culture, so things became a little easier after that.

What do you enjoy the most about living in Germany?

Hands down, the people. I get tremendous support with my creativity.

What was your experience participating in Ninja Warrior (Germany) like?

Ninja Warrior definitely pushed me to my fitness limit. I’ve worked as a Personal Trainer and participated in bodybuilding contests before, so I had the preparation. One of the greatest things in my experience though, was the vibrant support from the fitness community online and during production.

You have built a community of over 170k Instagram followers, how did you do that?

I started sharing my journey and fitness transformation on Social Media and soon after, that grew my following. My community members shared how much I inspired them, which motivated me to produce more.

I also have a very positive outlook on life, so there are a couple funny moments I share because I love to make others laugh.

Tell us about some of the brands you partner with on Social Media?

I get excited every time a brand reaches out to partner because I put a lot of work into my content. I currently work with Bang Energy Drink and Prozis (a sport brand). The partnerships are usually in line with my interests and fitness has always been at the forefront.

These partnerships also allows me to share discount cods with my online community, so the support is 360.

How do you stay motivated to produce so much work?

M biggest goal is to help people, because I know what the experience of a re-start looks like. I look at each day as a new opportunity to be great and try my best to make it work without complaints.

What is your advice for other folks pursuing a multicultural experience?

It will be hard, but try it. Go for a new experience if you have the urge to. The experience is unmatched and you get to learn so much about yourself on the journey.

What are you looking forward to in 2022?

It is going to be a great year for me. I am currently lining up myself for more media opportunities and a very important Disney+ series.
