The radio host, who is never one to shy away from controversy, is set to return to America’s Got Talent. He has been a judge on the talent competition since 2012 replacing Piers Morgan. Stern broke the news via his radio show, “Howard 100″ a popular show on Sirius Radio “After a lot of thought…and I say this with peace and love…I am going back to America’s Got Talent.”
Nick Cannon the host of America’s Got Talent also broke the news on NBC’s Today that not only Stern would be returning, but Cannon would also be returning to fulfill the hosting duties. Nick Cannon has been the host of AGT since season four. Last year the judging panel included Stern, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and ex-Spice Girl Melanie Brown, both of whom joined the series last year. There has been no further confirmation on if the rest of the judges are coming back for another season.
One of the details that have been confirmed is the change in production location for Los Angeles to New York City, where Stern is currently based out of. It is also believed that Howard Stern is being awarded about $15 million to be a judge next season. Stern’s return to the judging panel was not always a clear answer, “I really, really did struggle with this decision because I’ve been working a long time. I really wanted to decide if this was going to take away too much free time. Did I really still enjoy doing it? Did I have something to say? Is it something I should be involved with still?”
