Hunter X Hunter Is Set To Air On Adult Swim’s Toonami Block

Hunter X Hunter is set to make Adult Swim’s Toonami Block even more exciting, when the 2011 remake makes its network debut later this month.

Hunter X Hunter is about to make Adult Swim’s Toonami Block a whole lot better. Hunter X Hunter, the 2011 remake, will be featured on the Toonami block starting April 16. The exciting announcement was made on the online pre-show feature Toonami: Pre-flight.

Hunter X Hunter’s Toonami debut will also mark the debut of the English-dub that is being produced by Bang Zoom! Entertainment. VIZ Media has licensed the series, which aired from 2011 to 2014, for a home-video release and announced the dub-cast in March. It will feature Erica Mendez (Kill la Kill) as Gon Freecss, Cristina Vee (Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic) as Killua Zoldyck, Matthew Mercer (Attack on Titan) as Leorio, Keith Silverstein (K) as Hisoka, and  Erika Harlacher (Toradora!) as Kurapika.

Hunter X Hunter is based on the manga series of the same name by Yoshihiro Togashi. The series has a total of 32 volumes and went on hiatus in 2014 due to Togashi’s poor health. The manga just recently went off hiatus much to the joy of long-time fans. VIZ Media has licensed and released the manga series as well as the original 62 episode anime that ran from 1999 to 2001.

Crunchyroll currently has the entire series available to stream and describes the plot of Hunter X Hunter (2011) as the following:

Abundant riches, hidden treasures, fearsome monsters, and exotic creatures are scattered around the world…Gon departs on a journey to become a Pro Hunter who risks his life in search of the unknown. Along the way, he meets other applicants for the Hunter exam: Kurapika, Leorio and Killua. Can Gon pass the rigorous challenges of the Hunter exam and become the best Hunter in the world? His wild and epic journey is about to begin!!

Hunter X Hunter (2011) has a total of 148 with the final episode airing in 2014.
