Kygo releases remix of “Higher Love” with Whitney Houston

The late and the great legend, Whitney Houston, is featured on a beautiful new remix of “Higher Love” with Kygo. The beautiful new collaboration comes seven years after the passing of Whitney. Whitney’s sister-in-law explains the track as “We want to remind people why they fell in love with Whitney in the first place,” Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law Pat Houston said.

You may be familiar with the track, which Whitney added as a bonus track to her third album, “I’m Your Baby Tonight, which was added and released only in Japan. Whitney’s fans are sure to be pleased as Pat Houston (sister in law), has been working with RCA Records to release some music projects as the sole executor of her estate.

“He put his spin on it and did a fantastic job” Pat told Rolling Stone in a recent interview. She mentioned that “We knew when his name was brought up that it would be successful in the hands of someone of his caliber.”

This remix definitely sounds a bit different from what Kygo has put out before, however, you can hear the similarities and honestly, it does the song so much justice. Though Whitney isn’t here to celebrate the release and the legacy that she has left on the music industry, Kygo tells Rolling Stone, “I was trying to make it sound like something that she would’ve done, but also something that’s my style,” which he certainly did.

Higher Love” is available now. Here is a beautiful throwback of Whitney performing “Higher Love” before her passing.
