Fans of Lea Michele know that she recently released her debut album Louder, and was greeted with a lot of praise and support from both fans and peers. Not to mention her album landed on the top 5 on the Billboard Charts.

Michele recently released a stripped down version of “Cannonball” that is likely going to make you love the song more. Instead of all of the bells and whistles that sometimes may accompany a track on the album, this version is Michele, her back-up singers and a keyboard. The video not only showcases the song “Cannonball,” but it also gives fans a look into the recording studio with Lea Michele.

Some fans may know that this is one of the songs that was not originally on her album. However, after the passing of her boyfriend Cory Monteith, Michele teamed up with Sia Furler to help her depict what she’s going through by song. “Cannonball” was a song that Sia had already written, but Michele felt that described everything and then some of what she was feeling.

What do you think of the stripped down version? I personally loved it. Sometimes when an artist strips a song down to its bones, the listener truly is able to enjoy it more while understanding the meaning behind the words. Watch the video and let us know which version you liked better!
