Lizzy Caplan Joins Channing Tatum In Gambit
Lizzy Caplan is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Gambit, the much anticipated X-Men spin-off movie already set to star Channing Tatum.
Details on whom exactly Caplan would be playing are scarce, but according to Variety, the Masters of Sex alum will be the female lead…whoever that may be.
Tatum still star as Gambit, the Cajun mutant with the ability to control kinetic energy and turn objects like playing cards into projectiles.
Caplan, who also appears in the James Franco film Disaster Artist this year, earned an Emmy nomination for Showtime’s Masters of Sex, which ended in 2016 after a four-season run.
Gambit, which will be directed by Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski, is only one of the many mutant-related films down the pike as part 20th Century Fox’s efforts to expand the X-Men cinematic universe. 2018 will see the release of New Mutants (April 13), Deadpool 2 (June 1), and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2), with Gambit slated for a February 14, 2019 release.
