The First Lady has always been a strong advocate for healthy alternatives, and she has recently announced that she’d be partnering with Jordin Sparks and Ashanti for a new healthy initiative.
The Partnership For a Healthier America is working with Obama on her ‘Let’s Move’ campaign which is producing a 19 track hip-hop album entitled, Songs For A Healthier America, to promote healthy eating for kids.
Tracks include “U R What You Eat” by Salad Bar (the album-only trio made up of Matisyahu, Travis Barker and Ariana Grande) and also songs featuring artists like DMC and Jeremy Jordan.
Michele Obama won’t be lending her vocals to the tracks, but she is expected to appear in the music videos for the tracks. 10 music videos will initially be seen in New York City schools before being circulated throughout the U.S.
The album is expected to be available in September.
