Trouser snake. Snake eyes. Is that a snake in your pants or are you just happy to see me, NPH?

All of the puns have already been made. The real snake in the grass story lies within the raw photographs shot by Annie Leibovitz – within the actor Neil Patrick Harris.

Celebrated playwright/lyricist/actor, Lin-Manuel Miranda, the genius behind In the Heights, penned a look-back at NPH’s rise to fame for Vanity Fair to accompany the staggering shots. Miranda and Harris joined forces in 2013, when the playwright wrote the actor’s opening monologue for the Tony Awards.

The editorial comes as publicity for Neil’s current venture, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, a complete turn-around of his chauvinistic role on How I Met Your Mother.
