A crazy little thing was announced today when the legendary rock band Queen revealed plans to release a new album featuring never-before-heard songs sung by Freddie Mercury later this year.
Hot on the heels of news that the band would be kicking off its first U.S. tour in 8 years alongside American Idol alum Adam Lambert, Brian May spoke with BBC Wales to reveal more deets on the upcoming record.
It is quite emotional… It is the big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound. It wouldn’t have been if we hadn’t done this restoration job. We had to start from scratch because we only had scraps. But knowing how it would have happened if we had finished it, I can sit there and make it happen with modern technology.
The upcoming album is said to be tentatively titled Queen Forever, and will include mostly unreleased tracks from the ’80s that have been fastidiously and precisely remastered for the modern era.
Well, Queen fans? How do you feel about this upcoming release? Vote in the poll below and let us know!
