SDCC News About ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season Two

SDCC is here and with that comes news! …news about the fandoms we love, like ‘Star Trek’ Season Two!

SDCC is here and with that comes news, news about the fandoms  we love. Star Trek: Discovery which aires exclusively on CBS’s online platform is getting ready for season 2 after season 1, which was successful, took some time to bring the fans on board. They’ve released two new images from the show’s second season and, though they’re simply, they tell us a lot about what’s to come.

When the show’s first season ended, we had the shock of Lorca’s truth and a glimpse at the USS Enterprise which would later be captained by James T. Kirk. Fans were torn by this decision by being either excited, or worried the reveal was coming too soon. But Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) is Spock’s adopted sister which could explain the choice because served under Captain Christopher Pike.

Both the photos and production teaser hint at a change in the show to reflect the older style with the ship’s and the uniform. We also hear Spock’s voice which adds validity to our idea that the Enterprise is involved because of the familial link between he and Burnham. In casting news, the show announced the addition of Anson Mount (Inhuman) to play Pike which means we will be seeing more then just the hull of the USS Enterprise. Bringing in the show’s first ship allows for some excellent storytelling, if they work towards the plots of the movie reboots then the alternate timeline is already in play.

We don’t know what the show’s challenges will be for Burnham and crew, but we can’t wait to find out! More news will be coming as SDCC continues so keep up with PopWrapped to stay in the know.
