If there’s one thing many of us can relate to, it’s the confusion we run into when we start catching feelings for someone else. 

Singer/songwriter Xavier White put that confusion into lyrical form with the song we’re premiering today.

The definition of a feel-good track, “Is That Love?” has a beat you’ll just have to move to, and vocals reminiscent of Trey Songz with a touch of Miguel. The song is pop/R&B, yes, but also touches on a hip-hop vibe in its production and some of the lyrical delivery.

The 25-year-old musician counts Lenny Kravitz and Bruno Mars among his inspirations, and that’s clear in his work. Although he’s a New York native, his first EP (Our Last Memories) was produced in California with Lucas Hass and Angelksion who, if this song is any indication, know what they’re doing.

“What Is Love?” is a taste of Xavier’s next EP, Cancer vs Gemini, which will presumably feature music along the same lines–a bit of a change from his first project, which was more heavily pop-leaning than these new songs will be.
