2 Bold Predictions For Coach “Prime” Sanders And His JSU Tigers

I think all college football fans can agree on the fact that the Jackson State Tigers, led by coach and NFL legend Deion “Prime Time” Sanders are going to be one of the most talked-about and followed teams this season in HBCU football. What they did in their Spring League games already gathered enough attention and notoriety not only from media and fans in general but from college football odds experts as well. While we’re not even really talking about Jackson State as a clear and dominant favorite, what we are talking about is a team that could very well become one of the most entertaining and pivotal squads this season.

But how will coach Sanders and his team do? What can college football fans expect from the JSU Tigers this season? Here are two bold predictions on what we think might end up happening for the Jackson State Tigers.

All Eyes Will Be On Coach “Prime” And What His Team Can Do

As soon as Deion Sanders accepted the job as the new head coach of the Jackson State Tigers football team, every single college football fan, analyst and expert were put on notice that “Prime Time” was coming to college football and he would now be known as coach “Prime”. As soon as he landed in Jackson, Mississippi, former NFL legend and one of the best football players to ever play the game Deion Sanders got to work to not only coach the Tigers but try and start a whole new football movement and era for HBCU schools.

Once Sanders started doing his work, everyone started taking a deeper look at what HBCU football can be all about, especially top coveted recruits. While before, HBCU schools would have to fish in shallow waters when it came to landing top-grade recruits from around the country, with Sanders in JSU, things have changed. Sanders has amassed an enviable myriad of players on the field, be it from recruits or players who used the transfer portal to join the Tigers. He has even gone as far as to promise JSU and college football fans alike that this team has been upgraded in every position and that the team he’ll be coaching will be something special to watch. Taking into account that it’s “Prime Time” now coach “Prime” we’re talking about, of course, special is something we expect.

At the end of the day though, the reality of the matter is that Sanders and his JSU Tigers will not have it easy to dominate in their conference. With teams like Alabama A&M and Southern looking poised for a championship run, JSU might be looking at a good fall season but not a championship ridden one.

Shedeur Sanders Could Be In For A Great Season If His O-Line Steps Up

If there is one player in JSU that will surely be feeling the pressure to perform at the highest level, it’s none other than QB and son of coach “Prime” Shedeur Sanders. While Sanders, a top recruit out of Texas turned down the opportunity to play for some of the best college football programs in the nation to follow his father to Jackson Mississippi, there is no denying that the talent that the freshman quarterback has and his ceiling when it comes to talent and skill are sky-high. With Sanders we’re not just talking about a good QB prospect, we’re talking about a two-time Texas state title winner and a four-star recruit, in the world of high school and college football, that means a lot. Sanders should have no issues putting up great numbers, especially with a receiver core with the likes of Shane Hooks, Trevante Rucker, Quay Davis, Keith Corbin, and Corey Reed. It’s his offensive line that could end up causing troubles here.

JSU got sacked like it was nobody’s business last spring, 14 times in six games to be exact. JSU had to go through a major offensive line rebuild process in order to come up with answers for their past problems. With Dylan Spencer being able to finally suit up for the Tigers alongside Tre Johnson, Javonte Gardner, and Charles Armstrong, this offensive line will have to put in extra time and work in order to give Shedeur Sanders the protection and time he needs to truly explode on offense.
