On Saturday May 20, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson hosted SNL for his 5th time, joining the Five TImers' Club, and he brought a few special guests on during his opening monologue. Alec Baldwin, who was already in the cold open as President Trump, appeared to present Johnson his honorary robe and then began talking about politics. What came next was comedy gold!

The Rock began explaining that he has been approached to run for office, but he was ready to put the rumor to bed, and, while he was doing that. he announced that he would be running. After he made that announcement, he began prefacing his running mate, and the audience watched as Baldwin looked like he was ready to accept the position, but, in a twist, Johnson named Tom Hanks as his running mate. The two went on to explain why they would be a great team to run the country, and it was fantastic! Take a look at the clip below.

Johnson and Hanks had the audience eating out of their hands, as they described their presidency and vice presidency before unveiling their running poster which featured 'Johnson Hanks 2020'. The political world we live in is so crazy that these two actually come across as a legitimate answer to the future of America.

The Rock proceeded to host a decent episode of SNL with a few more hints at his future run for president in the Weekend Update. Katy Perry was the musical guest, and we admit that we wanted to enjoy it, but her performances were a little too strange for our taste. So, would you vote for Johnson and Hanks in four years? They both have plenty of experience saving the world, so, as they said before the end of the monologue, "America needs us. Us and pizza."
