Scream Queens aired it’s first season last fall, debuting a blend of horror and comedy that earned a dedicated following and solidified a second season. During San Diego Comic Con 2016, Scream Queens held a panel in the popular area of Ballroom 20 with the cast (Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Billie Lourd, Keke Palmer, Lea Michele, Taylor Lautner and John Stamos) joined by the series executive producer Ian Brennan to talk all things Scream Queens and what’s in store for the second season based in a hospital. Here’s a few of the major takeaways from the panel to enjoy until the season begins…
1 – There will be a time jump.
Scream Queens will be skipping three years from the finale of the first season to the premiere of season 2, giving us enough time to take a look at where each character has found themselves after surviving a campus-wide murder spree.
2 – The Chanels have hit a low.
The clique of mean-girls (that we absolutely love) are used to being at the top in terms of popularity, wealth and status but that will be changing. According to the panelists, the Chanels have all lost the money they fall back on, but will still do their best to keep up their expensive fashion tastes despite going through obvious hardships.
3 – Hester’s storyline will be kept secret for the time being.
Hester will be a large part of the second season, with life taking her down a different path that nobody was quite ready to divulge. Michele stated regarding Hester’s role, “When we come back, we don’t know where Hester is. It’s great when you find out.” Michele also went on to admit that her wardrobe for Hester will include something different than before which makes us more anxious to see where the murderer ends up.
4 – Zayday and Kathy Munsch develop a friendship.
The two didn’t have too much interaction during the first season, but Munsch will extend her help to Zayday who has become slightly lost after surviving the Red Devil. With the former dean now a rich hospital owner, she finds Zayday to be the most qualified to take under her wing for the hospital setting – placing Zayday in a power position as well.
5 – Emma Roberts may return to AHS
This may not be correlated to Scream Queens directly, but during the panel Roberts suggested she could come back after plans for last season fell through. Now that Ryan has suggested a major crossover potential for the AHS seasons, could this mean we’ll finally see the return of the beloved Madison Montgomery from AHS Coven? Let’s hope so!
