The comedy’s producers all more than thrilled that Girls will be seeing another season, even though they thought that it was already a done deal before any announcement had been made. The show even plans to fill the studio that 30 Rock will be vacating shortly. This unrated series only saw 866,000 viewers when season 2 premeired and only 1.6 million viewers over multiple airings that night. HBO has never been known for relying on ratings measures, or even ratings at all for that matter. Girls has been a huge critical success, and has won several awards (including two Golden Globes won earlier this month) and is a show that everyone is talking about- even if they hate it or love it!
The third season will have 12 episodes, instead of the 10 episodes it’s had for season 1 and 2. The third episode of season 2 will air this sunday at 9pm on HBO.
