Our Recap For HBO’s Girls Episode “Boys”!

There are not many times that I can turn on a TV show and say “wow I can totally relate to that”. When it comes to Girls I constantly find myself wondering how they got the credits to my life. Granted I don’t live in New York, and maybe I’m not as desperate and needy as Hannah, but there are definitely a handful of similarities.

This week we got to see a side to Marnie that we have yet to see. I pretty much wrote her off as a frigid bitch from day one. I learned this episode that Marnie does in fact feel. And like most women out there, sex is not just sex and asking someone to host a party is in fact a major relationship milestone. However, shit hits the fan when you’re dating a douche named Booth and he really was hiring you to host a party and the sex was just expected and clearly involved no titles like ‘boyfriend’ or ‘girlfriend’.

As Marnie continues her downward tailspin she really has nowhere to turn. Things between her and Hannah are still not peachy. I mean clearly sleeping with someone’s gay ex-boyfriend is the worst thing you can do (really?!). Hannah is offered an opportunity to write an e-book and needs to come up with it in a month. A tall order for a notorious procrastinator.

Meanwhile Ray is searching for his copy of Little Woman, which he gave to Hannah, who then gave it to Adam. Not wanting to confront Adam, Hannah with the help of Shoshanna talk Ray into going to retrieve the book. Once there Ray finds that Adam has stolen a dog. Trying to make right they embark on a bro-venture together. Ray reflects on the fact that he is a lost 30 something and in the end doesn’t get his book, but a dog.

Can’t wait to see what sort of existential crisis plagues Hannah next week!
