“Realistically…we want to be a rock band with pop influences,” states Anthony Evans, guitarist for New Jersey-based band, Beneath The Sun.
The quartet, which includes brothers Anthony (guitar) & Phil (vocals) Evans, Caleb Schultz (drums) and Micah Ricks (bass), have a very clear vision of what kind of music they love and the type of music that want to put out and that’s one of the first things I noticed when I watched their set last Friday (February 22nd).
After their set, I caught up with the guys to talk about their music (and how it differs from their previous project School Boy Humor) and their influences, ranging from Muse to Blink-182 to Def Leppard. The guys will carry the momentum from the Allstar Weekend tour directly into the studio as they get set to record a 6 song EP to be released later this Spring. After recording the EP, Beneath the Sun will hit the road again with Millionaires from March 30th-May 18th.
