Having previously been teased by director Marc Webb with this image of the new Spider-Man mask, fans were treated today as Coming Soon revealed the new and improved suit Peter Parker will don in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, due to be released next year.

This more traditional outfit is a vast improvement on the costume from the first film, and is more reminiscent of the original comic book character than anything we have seen before.

The official synopsis for the film has also now been released, and you can read it here:

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’, which features Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone Shailene Woodley, Jamie Foxx, Sally Field, Paul Giamatti and Martin Sheen amongst others, opens in 3D on 2 May 2014.
