I wonder if “Jessie’s Girl” would be willing to post bail for singer Rick Springfield.
A warrant was issued for Springfield’s arrest on Wednesday March 6th after he failed to appear in court to face previous DUI charges. He was arrested on Friday at his Los Angeles home.
As you know, celebrities are pretty much synonymous with DUIs. Springfield was pulled over back in May of 2011 for speeding down the Pacific Coast Highway. According to TMZ, what made the situation worse for the rocker was when he threatened to kill the deputy and his family if his precious 63 Corvette was towed. When he was tried in August he pleaded no contest to reckless driving with “DUI conditions” charge. He was then ordered to attend a three-month alcohol education program in lieu of jail time.
Springfield managed to escape jail time yet again. By the time he was being booked Rick’s attorney had already cleaned up the mess and had the warrant recalled. Rick wasted no time to alert his adoring fans that all was well. Springfield took to Facebook to post:
“My home away from home. Lost hills sheriff station. Arrested this am on a bench warrant. I didn’t know that I was supposed appear in court a few weeks ago. It was to do with the old DUI charge and it’s been cleared up and i am free to go. Thought I might miss the gig tonite but I will be there and we will celebrate together. Life is not boring. XOXO”
No stranger to the law, Springfield was previously arrested for spousal abuse in 2000. Sounds like Springfield is taking a page from his General Hospital days with all the drama! Hopefully this will be his last run in with the law!
