It’s the Disney remake of West Side Story (good Lord), with a few added elements.

The movie is about Mackenzie, a young girl living with her best friend Brady in paradise. Two avid surfers, Mackenzie and Brady spend the summer in the waves. He is excited about the new movie “Wet Side Story” where a gang of surfers and a gang of bikers fight over the coolest beach hangout.

However,  Mackenzie’s aunt arrives to take her away. Brady is shocked by the sudden news and asks why. She tells him that when her mother died, she made a deal with her aunt that when it was time to get serious and go to college, she’d leave.

Before she leaves, they catch one last wave…and end up crash landing right into “Wet Side Story”. Now, they’re trapped in an alternate dimension with no way out. To make matters worse, they’ve altered the plot of the movie and are now morphing into the plot line.

Will Brady and Mackenzie escape the endless party that is “Wet Side Story” or will they become part of the movie?

The movie stars Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell. It premiers on Disney Channel Friday July 19th at 8PM/7PM C
