We previously shared the news about Team Starkid’s Kickstarter funded seventh full length musical production, Twisted, slated for July 2013.  They have already well surpassed their initial goal of $35,000. As of this moment they are funded up to $97,825.  Clearly this is much more than anticipated, so to keep their backers in the loop, they have made an additional update with what the plans are to do with any additional funds they receive (considering they have over three weeks left on their kickstarter!)

In addition to the list of “stretch goals” they’ve provided, Team Starkid has recently updated their Kickstarter page to clear up any confusion about whether or not Twisted will eventually find its way to YouTube/the Internet in some form or another (either DVD or Digital Download is also an option), here is what the recent update states:
We’d like to address some concerns people are voicing about being unable to see the show live. In the past, every show we’ve produced has eventually been made widely available in some form (most of the time for free on youtube, other times as a dvd or digital download). This is a tradition we will continue.

We will be recording the Chicago production of ‘Twisted’, but hopefully this will not be the final production. After the show’s initial run, we would love to see its life continue in a new city, or as a touring production, or as something even greater. The goal is to make this musical available for as many people as possible to see live (and at its best). Then, of course, after the show’s running life, we will make the entire musical available over the internet. It’s what we always have done, we’ve just never tried to run a show for more than two weeks before!”

So fear not, loyal Starkids near and far, it looks like we will all have the chance to see Twisted, the question is not if, but when. Keep donating, let’s make this show the best it can possibly be!
