New just broke that Glee start Cory Monteith who has publicly admitted to having substance abuse problems has checked himself into a rehab facility. A rep for Cory stated “Cory Monteith has voluntarily admitted himself into a treatment facility for substance addiction. He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”
Back in 2011, Monteith commented in an interview with Parade magazine, “I’m lucky on so many counts—I’m lucky to be alive.” The star opened up about his tumultuous past about what he went through after dropping out of high school at the age of 16 and the time he realized his life was “out of control.” “Anything and everything, as much as possible,” he referred to about his past drug problem. “I had a serious problem.”
Reports are speculating that girlfriend and costar Lea Michele, may have known of his admittance to rehab tweeting earlier today, “Feeling so grateful today.”
