Musician Linda Perry has announced that she is engaged to longtime girlfriend Sara Gilbert. Gilbert, who is featured on The Talk, shared the story of the elaborate proposal- complete with a band playing their song (The Cure’s “Love Song”) while Perry donned a T-Shirt with the phrase “Will you marry me?”
Perry reportedly also asked John Waite to perform his love song, “Missing You”. On an episode of The Talk, Gilbert exclaimed, “I think that’s it’s—it’s like the most amazing proposal ever.” Sounds like the couple is content!
Gilbert and Perry have been together since late 2011 after Gilbert and Glee’s producer, Alison Alder, broke up.
Gilbert started acting as a child and was featured on the show Roseanne. She is now a host on The Talk.
Perry is a prominent songwriter with credits including Alicia Key’s “Superwoman” and Pink’s “Get The Party Started”.
No word yet on a wedding date.
