Tonight, however, they stand as one.

A sign displayed on the electronic marquee outside of Yankee Stadium displays both logos with the saying “United We Stand”. The sign went up earlier today to show that the Yankees support the people of Boston after the terrorist attack at the Boston Marathon yesterday.

Tonight’s Yankees game against the Arizona Diamondbacks will feature a moment of silence and the playing of “Sweet Caroline” after the end of the third inning. “Sweet Caroline” is played after the eighth inning of every Red Sox home game at Fenway Park.

In the light of tragedy, there is no separation of people. We are all one nation, held together through bonds of loyalty and remembrance. They may be bitter rivals on the diamond, but tonight they are united.
