After a long process that saw speculation of many actresses – including Emma Watson – surrounding the role of Cinderella in the new remake, being directed by Kenneth Branagh), Deadline is reporting that Lily James from Downton Abbey has finally been selected to play the Disney princess.
Cate Blanchett will also be appearing in the film as the evil stepmother, and will be produced by Allison Shearmur, David Barron (Harry Potter), and Simon Kinberg.
