Get ready for more outrageous moments; golden popcorns and silver moon men because MTV just announced dates for the 2014 award shows. The MTV Movie Awards will take place Sunday, April 13, 2014, making it the second year the party will air before the summer, while the MTV Video Music Awards is set for Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014.
This year’s MTV Movie Awards was the first time the awards show moved up from its June date in an effort to serve as a kick-off to the summer movie season. Hosted by

, the 2013 event drew in more than 3.8 million viewers and grew 21 percent over 2012 in the network’s core 12-34 demo. The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards will take place Aug. 25 and will be broadcast from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
