First “Long Walk To Freedom” Poster Unveiled!

Luther star, Idris Elba, brooding and melancholy, looks warily out from the poster to promote his latest film, Nelson Mandela biopic, Long Walk to Freedom.

The film highlights the early life of Nelson Mandela, his coming of age, his education, and his 27 years imprisoned on Robben Island.

The tagline for the poster, “It is an ideal for which I am prepared to die” captures the resolve and determination typical of Mandela. The poster is in the colours of the South African flag, and is itself inspired by artwork for the “Free Nelson Mandela” campaign, published by the United Nations Centre Against Apartheid, Liberation Support Movement, in 1981.
